As of this writing, a motion is being drawn up, by this committee, to have the membership vote on the final draft of the ROM Proposal at the AGM in Pennsylvania. We hope to get it passed and get on with tabulating the many titles and certificates “laying in wait”, ready to be mailed in and counted. Once the Proposal has been passed, we can finish updating and automating all of the files and then work towards publishing the files online for all to see. This will be of great value to everyone concerned.
Another project this committee has come up with is to create a ROM book, showcasing the ROM dogs and bitches. Each ROM dog owner will be allowed to submit 2 pages worth of pictures, a brief summary, the dog’s pedigree, accomplishments, or anything else they wish to include, to be put in a plastic sheathed front and back page in the book. The committee would then put the ROM book on display at the National Specialties. Our hopes would be to eventually publish a ROM book, from this material, similar to the book, “The First Five Years”, to make it available to a larger audience.
Thanks to my ROM Committee members, Mary Belle Adelman, Johnene Baxter, Heather Bacon and Carole Riggs, who have all signed on for another year. We are anxious to get going on the final updating and Mary is in charge of the new ROM book, so look for some good things to come in 2009!
