2. I would like to nominate Stephen Ware as the Chair of the new "Temporary" Committee that was approved at the Annual Meeting in Tennessee to study the concept of a "Hall of Fame" or "Top

Producers" program, which would provide recognition to those dogs/bitches who don't fit into the ROM program but who have contributed significantly to our breed.

Steve has presented some great ideas about this program and has significant resources to draw from, due to his involvement with their other breed (GSPs) and the awards program in that breed.

3. I would like to nominate Cathie Watson as the new Chair of the Standards and Education Committee.

Regretfully, Chris Ann Moore has had to resign from her position as Chair of the Standards and Education Committee due to personal reasons. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Chris Ann for her service to the club as last year's Chair and to also thank her for caring enough about the

committee to allow someone else the opportunity to give the committee the time and attention that she knew she wouldn't be able to.

Cathie has been involved in conformation showing since 1996, with a Cardigan Welsh Corgi, a Briard, and then ACDs.  Upon becoming involved with ACDs, she quickly joined the Gold Coast Club and the ACDCA and has held Board positions in the Gold Coast club for several years and has been active

in raising funds for that club.  In her first litter of cattle dogs, she produced a bitch who won WB & BW at the 2003 national and a dog who won an AOM at the 2003 national and was ranked #1 in the breed for half of the following year.

As a COE breeder, she has also bred several champions in only a few breedings. She has been involved in handling several breeds & helped  chair a bulldog specialty as well.  She is now the secretary for a local Herding club and also helps with fund raising and raffles.  In general, Cathie has shown a great deal of initiative, energy, and motivation since becoming involved with our breed.  Her interactions with other exhibitors, breeders, and judges are fused with energy, positive social skills, and a passion about the breed.  I have spoken with Cathie about the expectations of the Standards and Education Committee and she assures me that she will lead the committee to develop and present programs that will educate judges about the standard and the breed in general - without personal agendas, preferences, or motivations by herself or any committee member.  She also assures me that she will work closely with mentors who have been involved in judge's education in the past (both in our breed and in other breeds), so that they can give her guidance as she learns more about her  role.
